What is the impact of the choice of adsorbent and its respective properties on the CRE of DACCS?

,

I’ll be presenting at the International Conference on Negative CO2 Emissions event on Identifying Key Adsorbent Properties to Improve the Carbon Removal Efficiency of Direct Air Carbon Capture and Storage.
Our study looks at how adsorbent selection influences the CRE of DACCS, and which adsorbent properties are most important. One insight we’re seeing is that adsorbent choice can determine whether DACCS generates negative emissions. Different properties are relevant, if we want to achieve a high CRE: high initial capacity, low and slow adsorbent degradation, and low adsorbent-related climate change impact.

I’d be really interested to discuss this question and further details at the event!
