What does “CGS” mean in the context of CDR?

CO2 Geological Storage: The process of storing carbon dioxide in a deep geological formation. Often used within DACCS and BECCS technologies.

Hi everyone, I’ve added a seperate entry for CGS and I think it would be helpful if as a community we used this term when considering the storage element of DACCS and BECCS (rather than CCS which is often associated with fossil carbon sources and/or enhanced oil recovery).

Thanks Iain,

(1) Should we add a qualifier here about permanence? e.g. the process of storing carbon dioxide in a deep geological formation for permanent containment.

(2) Do you think we need to say ‘deep’?
