The En-ROADS Climate Solutions Simulator Now Features Ocean Alkalinity Enhancement

  • The En-ROADS climate solutions simulator—one of the world’s most widely used climate decision-support tools—now also shows data on Ocean Alkalinity Enhancement (OAE) as a result of a shared effort of Ocean Visions and Climate Interactive.
  • Co-developed by Climate Interactive and MIT Sloan School of Management, the En-ROADS simulator now offers information on both mineral-based and electrochemical OAE approaches.
  • Marine carbon dioxide removal (mCDR) has the potential to effectively fight atmospheric CO₂ pollution, and as the knowledge on these pathways grows, there is a pressing need to familiarize decision makers on how these approaches can fit within climate strategies.
