Working out what drives the environmental impacts of different DAC technologies now and in the future is what we are trying to find out with this research.
The results build on a parametrized Life Cycle assessment model, including material science, process engineering and more general system integration and ambient parameters. Currently the model is presented for solid sorbent TVSA DAC.
We try to identify most important parameters and derive plausble parameter combinations to transparently and comprehensibly visualize the results and the potentially large variability of the environmental impacts for different DAC configurations we observe.
During the conference, I hope to engage in discussions on improving the parameter assumptions for current and future systems or integrating new DAC technology approaches, and a lot more - Happy to hear your thoughts, questions and ideas!
