Event: C-SINK Research Seminars

As part of the C-SINK project, we are hosting a series of research seminars exploring key topics in carbon dioxide removal (CDR).

Our next Research Seminar will take place on February 21st, featuring an in-depth discussion on the latest trends in CDR. Led by Dr. Steve Smith, Arnell Associate Professor of Greenhouse Gas Removal and Executive Director of Oxford Net Zero and CO2RE, this session will provide critical insights into the current and future landscape of CDR efforts worldwide.

We will examine key complexities in monitoring, reporting, and verification (MRV) and standards, as well as the distinction between “active” and “passive” carbon uptake —a crucial consideration for robust CDR accounting. Drawing on recent research, we’ll also explore how removals are quantified, potential overestimations in national reporting, and the broader implications for climate policy. You can register for the event through this link.

Looking forward to seeing you all there!

Best regards,
Theofania
