In view of the regulatory gaps and inconsistencies in third-party verification that continue to affect the integrity of carbon markets, the event will present the work of the C-SINK project in supporting the development of a standardised and transparent European CDR market.
Discussions will address robust MRV pre-standards, scientific assessments of CDR approaches, and policy strategies to ensure high-quality, permanent removals.
Contributions from the European Commission (CINEA, DG CLIMA) and from sister initiatives—including UPTAKE, SEAO2-CDR, CREDIBLE, and LIFE Carbon Farming—will inform the programme.
