I’m looking forward to discussing our preliminary CDR-relevant findings at the 4th International Conference on Carbon Dioxide Removal at Politecnico di Milano this week.
These are part of a broader effort to facilitate informed dialogue and support consensus-building on policy goals, framing and action priorities in the context of 1.5 ˚C overshoot. I’ll be presenting de-identified insights from confidential interviews with 51 senior climate and energy leaders from across government, industry, civil society and research in Australia and the Pacific.
Insights cover participants’ thoughts on overshoot risk and the implications for climate policy actions and priorities to address this risk. I’ll be presenting on a subset of these findings relevant to if, where and how CDR could be incorporated into Australian climate policy.
We are interested in hearing other international perspectives on the evolving policy narrative around the role of CDR in climate policy.
